This is where it starts

My son is a recovering addict. He is struggling everyday and so is everyone around him. This is our story, a story about a family that loves, cares, helps, cries, screams and every other emotion you can think of. It’s about great celebrations and heart breaks, a life I never imagined I’d be living.

Maybe you’ve been there too. Maybe you are just beginning to know the heartache or quite possibly you’ve become numb to it or maybe you’re just trying to understand. Whichever way or anything in between, know that you are not alone. We are all walking through the darkness and headed to the light beyond. One step at a time we will make it.

This is my journey, my life and how we are making it thru, one day at a time. Everyone has a story and I hope that mine can help someone else. We all can understand addiction better by sharing and listening to the stories of other. We will know that we are not alone. We will all become stronger together.

*** It’s been 1 year and a half since I started writing this blog. So much has changed but so much has remained the same. My son has been in jail several times, He’s there right now and will miss the birth of his daughter this week. Instead of becoming more positive about his recovery I’m sad to say at this point I’m starting to lose hope. I do want to believe he can recover, I don’t want to lose my son but the devil seems to be holding on pretty tightly.***
